The T-nut is the smallest component in a workholding setup. It is also one of the most critical.
Every clamping force you apply through a stud, T-bolt, or strap clamp assembly ultimately transfers through the T-nut into the machine table. If the T-nut strips, deforms, or pulls out, the entire clamping assembly fails — not gradually, but instantly.
What is a T-Slot Nut?
A T-slot nut is a hardened steel nut machined to slide into the T-slot of a milling machine or VMC table. It provides the threaded anchor point for clamping studs and T-bolts used in workholding setups. Unlike a T-bolt, the T-nut is used with a separate stud screwed into it from above.
Where is it used?
T-slot nuts are used in CNC machining centres, milling machines, boring machines, and fixture plates across every workholding application that uses stud-and-strap-clamp assemblies. They are the most frequently replaced component in a workholding kit due to thread wear under repeated high-torque loading.
Best suited for
Compatible with standard 12mm, 14mm, and 16mm T-slot machine tables on BFW, ACE Micromatic, Jyoti, KENT, Lokesh, and Haas VMC and HMC machines.
The problem it solves
Mild steel T-nuts deform under high clamping torque. The thread engagement reduces progressively with each use cycle until the stud strips out under load. A hardened T-slot nut maintains its thread form and dimensional integrity across thousands of clamping cycles, providing consistent, safe holding force every time.
